2004 Egg Artist representing New Jersey

Patty Wiszuk De-Angelo was contacted to do a pysanka by the American Egg Board. Each year the Egg Board chooses one artist from each of the fifty states. Patty was chosen to represent New Jersey for 2004. The only criteria is that the theme of the egg be something of a "unique nature" to the state where the artist lives. Patty created a design of the Sandy Hook Lighthouse in Sandy Hook, NJ. Following its exhibition at the White House, the egg will reside permanently at the future Bush Presidential Library.

Patty's egg is a pen and ink and watercolor design of the top of the Lighthouse at Sandy Hook, NJ. This is the oldest continuously operated lighthouse in the US. It was commissioned by George Washington in 1767. Photo courtesy of Lin Jackowski.
